VERMONT PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB MYSTERY SERIES
The novels in the Photography Club Mystery Series (to be published) are traditional cozy mysteries about family, friendship, and what it means to find home.
At the center of each story is the protagonist, Bobbie Brooks, a grieving middle-aged widow who flees her life in the city for a fresh start in the fictional village of Stonebridge, Vermont, where she follows her dreams of opening a photography studio. As if transitioning to life in a small town while starting her own business isn’t challenging enough, Bobbie finds herself thrown into the role of amateur sleuth. There is a murderer in her otherwise peaceful village.
I’m very excited to announce I recently signed with Literary Agent, Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency.
After several rounds of editing, my first novel, Body Beneath the Covered Bridge, is ready for submission to publishers. In the meantime, I am drafting the second book in my series, Murder at the Harvest Masquerade.

Body Beneath the Covered Bridge

Her camera holds the answers… can she develop the clues in time to stop the killer?
Blue skies and blooming wildflowers signal the start of summer in southern Vermont, and the quaint village of Stonebridge is a flurry of activity with the opening of the farmer’s market.
It’s been more than a year since the sudden death of her husband, and photographer Bobbie Brooks wants nothing more than to escape her grief. Fleeing her life in the city, she seeks a fresh start in the serenity of the Green Mountains. But when she finds a member of her photography club dead beneath the picturesque covered bridge, her dreams of a new beginning come to a screeching halt.
Surrounded by suspicion and gossip, a cast of quirky characters, and copious cups of coffee at her friend’s charming café, Bobbie follows the clues that lead to the victim’s fatal photography hobby and no shortage of suspects. From love triangles to dark secrets and blackmail, each clue she brings into focus leads her closer to the killer—and danger. Time is running out when she discovers her camera holds the answers… But will she develop the clues in time to stop the murderer?
Murder at the Harvest Masquerade
It is autumn in Vermont and the mountains are ablaze—just in time for Stonebridge’s annual Harvest Festival. The village swarms with leaf peepers and the fete is off to a jubilant start. Residents gather for their favorite kick-off event—the masquerade ball. This promises to be Stonebridge’s best gala ever.
Finally settled into her home in the Green Mountains, photographer Bobbie Brooks, along with the Stonebridge Keep it Snappy Shutter club, is busy clicking photos. All is going well until a much-beloved resident is found face down in the village fountain. The festival must go on, and Bobbie vows to leave the investigation to the professionals. But when a tearful friend implores her to help, she must shift her focus from merriment to murder.
Questioning suspects provides no clear answers, and Bobbie feels she’s staring at a blurry photo. But, with the help of her photographer assistant, she zooms in on the killer’s motivation. Once again, Bobbie is in danger, and the killer is much closer than she expects.
I am currently drafting this novel, second in the series.

Once again, Bobbie’s focus shifts to murder, but following the clues is no cakewalk. Can she unveil the killer’s identity and save the newlyweds from a prison-style honeymoon?
